Matt Rega

Dr. Matt Rega is a former teacher, principal, and district administrator who is passionate about assessment and grading practices as well as how these practices translate to effective instruction. He is currently the director of assessment and evaluation for Minnetonka Public Schools in Minnesota.

Dr. Rega has presented locally and nationally on topics including authentic assessment practices, common formative and summative assessments, personalized learning, MTSS, and language immersion.

He is currently a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL). He presented his doctoral dissertation at ACTFL on the topic of language immersion, and he regularly presents his district’s language immersion assessment program work at the ACTFL Annual Convention. Additionally, Dr. Rega has presented on the topic of MTSS at the school superintendents’ organization, AASA.

Dr. Rega received his bachelor’s degree from Dana College in Blair, Nebraska, and his master’s and doctorate from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
