Mikie Escamilla

Mikie L. Escamilla is the principal of V.W. Miller Intermediate School in the Pasadena Independent School District in Pasadena, Texas. With more than 15 years experience in education, he previously served as an assistant principal and bilingual teacher for sixth, seventh, and eighth graders. Mikie is devoted to fostering the Professional Learning Community (PLC) at Work® process, building positive relationships, and cultivating a strong school culture.

During his tenure as assistant principal and principal, Mikie led V.W. Miller Intermediate to earn multiple campus distinctions and awards by developing schoolwide behavior management systems and establishing a culture of collaboration with a focus on learning for all. Mikie was named the 2022–2023 Secondary Principal of the Year in Pasadena ISD, and under his leadership, V.W. Miller Intermediate was recognized as a Model PLC at Work campus, a Gold Ribbon School by Children at Risk, and was a spotlight school for Good Reason Houston in the 2022–2023 school year.

Mikie earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Texas A&M University, as well as a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University in Austin, Texas.
