Shan Jorgenson-Adam, MEd, is president of JAM Consulting in Camrose, Alberta, Canada, where she partners with school divisions to strengthen leadership development, school culture, coaching, and mentorship. With more than 30 years of experience as a teacher, school administrator, division principal, director, and deputy superintendent, she has led literacy, numeracy, inclusion, community engagement, and strategic planning initiatives across Alberta and British Columbia. Her deep commitment to ensuring success for all students through high-quality teaching, positive school culture, and strong leadership has contributed to measurable improvement in multiple schools and divisions.

As the former deputy superintendent of the Battle River School Division in Camrose, Jorgenson-Adam played a key role in developing leadership capacity and fostering collaborative learning environments. She was also a lead contributor to a joint research project on leadership development between the Battle River School Division and the University of Calgary. She is a lifetime member of the College of Alberta School Superintendents and has presented throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and the United States on topics including literacy, school culture, instructional leadership, and leading learning.

She also codeveloped two professional courses for the College of Alberta School Superintendents Association on leading learning and instructional leadership. In addition, she has coauthored numerous articles on leadership for CASS Connection, the magazine of the College of Alberta School Superintendents.

She holds a bachelor of education with a double major in reading and language arts and a master’s in leadership from the University of Calgary. Jorgenson-Adam has also completed Alberta Education’s Leadership Quality Standard and Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard certification programs.
