B. Michelle Rinehart is an assistant superintendent, mathematics specialist, and instructional coach. As a former high school mathematics and science teacher, she is passionate about helping educators leverage high-impact teaching practices.

B. Michelle Rinehart

B. Michelle Rinehart is an assistant superintendent, mathematics specialist, and instructional coach. As a former high school mathematics and science teacher, she is passionate about helping educators leverage high-impact teaching practices to increase student ownership and learning. She is also interested in fostering teacher growth as leaders, reflective practitioners, and collaborative professionals through instructional leadership.

Michelle speaks nationally about topics in mathematics and computer science education, with a particular focus on effective instructional practices and conceptual development for secondary mathematics. She previously served as a regional team leader for the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM), as well as a board member for the Texas Association of Supervisors of Mathematics.

Michelle was a 2020 recipient of the Johnny L. Veselka Scholarship from the Texas Association of School Administrators, the 2018 recipient of the Nita Beth Camp Legacy Award for her lifetime of service to mathematics and science teachers, a 2012 finalist for Classroom Teacher of the Year from the Texas Computer Education Association, and the 2009 Region 18 Gifted and Talented Rising Star Teacher of the Year.

Michelle earned bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and physics, as well as education, from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She earned her master’s degree in curriculum and education from Texas A&M University, and she is currently pursuing her doctorate in educational leadership at Harvard University, where she is studying to lead systems-level transformation in education.
