Haley James

Haley James is the supervisor of instruction for Madison County Schools in Huntsville, Alabama, where she is working to align collaborative teams districtwide at every level through the Professional Learning Communities (PLC) at Work® process. She previously served as a preK–3 principal at Riverton Elementary School, which was named a Model PLC at Work school in 2022. She has also served as a preK–5 principal, preK–12 assistant principal, instructional coach, and elementary teacher.

Haley was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching in 2008, the highest honor the United States government bestows for K–12 STEM education. In 2022, Haley received Certified Instructional Leader (CIL) status through the Council of Leaders for Alabama Schools (CLAS). She was also certified as a preK–3 leader through CLAS and the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) in 2018.

Haley earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of North Alabama, a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of Alabama, and a master’s in educational leadership from Samford University.
