Mary Shay

Mary Shay, EdD, is director of innovation and equity for the Littleton Public School District in Colorado. Dr. Shay started her career in education as an elementary teacher in Nebraska. She has since served as a principal and assistant principal, working at both the elementary and secondary levels. She is committed to using the PLC framework to support teaching and learning at all levels.

During Dr. Shay’s tenure as principal at Cottonwood Creek Elementary in Englewood, Colorado, the school was named a John Irwin School of Excellence and earned the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award. Cottonwood Creek was also consistently ranked as one of Colorado’s top-performing schools during that time.

Dr. Shay earned her both her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education from Creighton University and her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Northern Colorado.
