Jai Wilson

Dr. Julia “Jai” Wilson is an assistant principal for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) in Louisville, Kentucky. In her 25-year career as an educator, she has served as a science teacher and department chair, assistant principal intern, and assistant principal for five different high schools.

Dr. Wilson presents on topics such as school culture, special populations, and professional learning community (PLC) implementation and monitoring. She believes all students are capable of learning at high levels and believes that once a relationship is built with each student, learning capacity is unlimited.

In addition to being nominated as a JCPS Outstanding Educator of Color, Dr. Wilson has served as the president, vice president, and treasurer of the JCPS Assistant Principals’ Association. She is also an adjunct professor at Campbellsville University in Kentucky.

Dr. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree in biology education from Kentucky State University, a master’s degree in secondary education and leadership at Indiana University Southeast, and a doctorate of philosophy in educational leadership and organizational development at the University of Louisville.
