Breez Longwell Daniels

Breez Longwell Daniels is the principal of Hot Springs County High School in Wyoming. She has also served as principal at Thermopolis Middle School, which was named a Model PLC under her leadership.

Breez believes the professional learning community model transforms student learning in small schools through vertical collaborative teams, the triangulation of data, and building wide roundtables for learning together. She is an advocate for preparing small and rural school students for the academic rigor of college, as well as career-technical and military readiness. Breez believes teachers in small schools are the crucial factor in determining student success.

She published her first article in AllThingsPLC Magazine in fall 2018, called “Growing a PLC from Rural Roots.” Daniels is also the author of PLC at Work® and Your Small School: Building, Deepening, and Sustaining a Culture of Collaboration for Singletons.

Breez’s accomplishments include being named the Wyoming Elementary Middle/Schools Principal of the Year, as well as a National Distinguished Principal by the National Association of Elementary School Principals, in 2016–17. Wyoming Secondary Schools named Breez Principal of the Year in 2020. Her school was a finalist for the distinguished DuFour Award in 2018 and 2019, and she was named a Rebecca Burnette DuFour Scholarship recipient for the 2019 Women in Education: Leading Perspectives Institute.

Breez earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education, as well as middle school and K–12 principal leadership endorsements from the University of Wyoming. She received a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Lesley University.
