Jorge Valenzuela is an education coach, an author, and a professor at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Additionally, he facilitates workshops throughout the country on behalf of Solution Tree and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
Jorge Valenzuela has been a classroom and online teacher since 2003 and a curriculum specialist since 2014. He is currently an education coach, author, and advocate. His main focus is on improving teacher preparation in instructional design, project-based learning, computational thinking and computer science integration, STEM education, and equity and SEL integration across the curriculum.
Jorge is an adjunct professor at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and the lead coach at Lifelong Learning Defined. Additionally, he facilitates workshops throughout the United States on behalf of Solution Tree and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. His books Rev Up Robotics and Environmental Science for Grades 6–12 and his jump-start guides Ready, Set, Robotics! and SEL in Action are available from the International Society for Technology in Education. He is also an avid contributor to Edutopia and the host of the SEL in Action podcast on BAM! Radio Network.
Jorge has a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from SUNY Old Westbury and a master’s degree in school administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix. He is currently in a doctoral program at Old Dominion University.
