The impact of trauma on learning can be significant and long lasting. By implementing trauma-informed teaching practices, educators can cultivate a school and classroom environment that encourages positive learning experiences.

Learn how to foster trauma-informed schools and confidently and meaningfully support not just your trauma-impacted students, but all students. Drawing from the presenters’ experiences with trauma, mental health, and school culture, this 2-Day Workshop will provide insights and strategies for empowering students to build resilience, cope with adverse situations, and achieve at high levels.

Participants will:

  • Build an understanding of childhood trauma and the impact traumatic experiences have on learners
  • Develop a trauma-informed attitude and mindset
  • Examine classroom structures that support trauma-sensitive practices while also recognizing ones that may contribute to trauma

  • Discover how to cultivate trusting and positive relationships with trauma-impacted students and their families
  • Establish a practical, research-affirmed implementation plan for building trauma-sensitive classrooms
  • Explore self-care techniques to keep the implementation focused and on track
  • Boost collaboration and develop a professional learning community that can sustain the growth needed to ensure trauma-sensitive practices
