Kate Grunow, MA, is an instructional technology consultant and Schoology implementation lead for Macomb Intermediate School District in Metro Detroit. She has more than a decade of experience in education as a K–12 digital media specialist and English teacher.

In this session, we will explore how teams develop effective mathematics instruction using 6 elements of lesson design. The process of designing engaging, targeted, and high quality instruction allows teams to dig deeply into both best practices in mathematics and grow in content knowledge. Roxanne (Roxy) L. Mourant, MEd, has been an educator since 1987 and has worked in a variety of school settings. She is currently chief education officer of Educating for Leadership, Inc., in Alaska.

Nicole M. Wessman-Enzinger, PhD, is an associate professor of education at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. Her primary role at the university is to prepare future K–12 teachers to teach mathematics, but her favorite aspect of this work is helping these future teachers redefine their relationships with mathematics.
