Eric Burns is the principal at Lynn Lucas Middle School for Willis ISD in Willis, Texas. His focus is coaching collaborative teams through the PLC process and designing effective RTI systems to monitor student performance.

Eric served three years as the campus principal at a Title I school, Hardy Elementary in Willis ISD. The knowledge obtained through conferences such as PLC at WorkⓇ and RTI at WorkTM led Hardy Elementary to being recognized as a Model PLC School. This recognition is attributed to the collaborative commitment of the guiding coalition and campus leadership. Prior to becoming a campus administrator, Mr. Burns served as a paraprofessional, an instructional technology specialist, and as fourth-grade mathematics teacher.

His accolades include being named Hardy Elementary’s Teacher of the Year in 2012 and Willis Independent School District's Principal of the Year in 2020.

Eric graduated from Huntsville High School in 2002. He attended Blinn Junior College, where he obtained his associates degree. A bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from Sam Houston State University followed in the fall of 2007. In 2012, Mr. Burns earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.
