Racheal Branch

Racheal Branch has been in education for 31 years. She spent her first 14 years as a high school teacher before transitioning into administration. Her 17 years as a campus administrator have seen her at the high school, middle school, and now intermediate level. Currently, she is the principal of Huntsville Intermediate in Huntsville, Texas.

Huntsville Intermediate School is a fifth- and sixth-grade campus catering to approximately 820 students. Prior to Racheal’s leadership, the school faced significant challenges, including low performance. But by leveraging the professional learning communities (PLC) process and emphasizing data-driven decision-making, personalized intervention strategies, and a steadfast commitment to meeting the needs of each student, Racheal was able to facilitate a turnaround in student performance. This led to the school being named a Model PLC at Work® campus.

Most of Racheal’s administrative experience has been as an instructional leader in Title 1 schools. In these roles, Racheal has demonstrated a keen understanding of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and student support systems. Her desire to foster collaborative environments and focus on essential standards has paved the way for improved student outcomes.

In recognition of her longstanding commitment to leadership, Racheal was selected to be part of the prestigious Rice University Executive Leadership Cohort in 2021. Her dedication to her craft was acknowledged when she received the Boss of the Year award through the Huntsville Item's Reader Choice Awards. Racheal was also honored with a publication award from the Teacher Education Division of the Council for Exceptional Children.

Racheal earned a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Louisiana State University in 1991. She earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University in 2005.
