Beth has received the 1995 Maryland Outstanding Educator Award, 1997 Johns Hopkins University Excellence in Teaching Award, and 2000 Stevenson University Rose Dawson Excellence in Teaching Award. She conducts professional development workshops with elementary and middle school staff throughout the region.

Beth earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.
