Author of 12 books, he is the co-developer of Cognitive Coaching: Developing Self-Directed Leaders and Learners with Art Costa and co-developer of The Adaptive School: A Sourcebook for Developing Collaborative Groups with Bruce Wellmann. He has also served as an administrator, teacher, principal, and director of instruction.

Natasha E. Gerstenschlager, PhD, is an efficacy research manager for Imagine Learning, where she studies the impact of educational products on student outcomes. Formerly, she taught mathematics courses in Kentucky and led professional development sessions on innovative, research-based teaching practices.
